Chettinad Chicken
Ingredients
- Chicken - 1 kg
- Ginger - 3/4 inch
- Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
- Black pepper - 1/2 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
- Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
- Termeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Curry Leaves - 2 twigs
- Onion - 4
- Tomato - 2
- Green chilies - 4
Preparation
- Smear the chicken pieces with turmeric powder and salt. Now heat the oil in a large pan. Add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, black pepper, poppy seeds, green chilies and curry leaves.
- Saute and take out the spices.Keep it aside.
- Now add finely chopped onions and ginger-garlic paste in the remaining oil.
- Fry till the onion turn golden brown.
- Now add tomato, coriander powder, sautes spices and chicken to the above.
- Add salt according to the taste and fry the mixture for another 5 min.
- Put the lid and let the chicken cook for about half and hour.
- The gravy turn almost dry, if required add little bit of water.
- When the chicken become soft, put off the flame, now Chettinad chicken is ready to serve.
